Update

Ok, so I have been very, very much not in the mood to blog for a while now, and a lot has happened so, I updated a little. There are a few posts to follow this one. Enjoy!

Brooklyn Museum

Yesterday I went into Brooklyn to see an exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum called Who Shot Rock & Roll. (I actually got the book, Who Shot Rock & Roll, from the Pags for Christmas and its pretty cool) The exhibit was a bunch of photographs and the stories behind them from the artists (The photographer artists, not the musician artists) of...well...Rock & Roll. Photos of the artists(musician artists this time), the fans, the album covers, the shows, and so on and so forth. It was incredibly crowded and the people that were there to see it were a little too artsy and pretentious for my liking but other than that it was really great. I really liked the Brooklyn Museum, and Brooklyn in general for that matter.

I was also able to help some people from Missouri figure out how the subway works and how to get to where they were going. Poor people ended up in Brooklyn when they were trying to get to the financial district, its a good thing for them that I could help I think cause they were pretty lost.

Anyway, that's about all that happened. I had a good time.

The Empire State Building

Last Saturday (January 23rd) Sadie and I went into The City to play. We went to Times Square to buy Sadie a purse, then went to Rockefeller Center cause she had never been there before. After that we went to the top of the Empire State Building, which she also had never done and I haven't done since I was about sixteen years old, so that was fun. When we were done playing in The City, we went back to her house for a "girls night". We went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner, then went back to her house, got into our pj's and made virgin pina coladas. Yup, virgin...boring huh? hee hee, just kiddin Mom...um...mostly. It was fun.

Home for the Holidays

I got to go home to Utah from December 21, 2009 until January 2, 2010. It was wonderful to be home for such a long period. I had a great time. Here are just a few pictures from my trip:

Happy 2nd Birthday Harlee

While I was home in Utah for Christmas, I was lucky enough to get to go to Harlees birthday party. Harlee is my best friend Shays daughter, and her second birthday was on December 30, 2009. I got her basically the same thing that I got my niece Makinley for her birthday. A bunch of fun dress up, "being fancy" things. She seemed to really like them, which was really great. It was a lot of fun. Before the party began, I went over to their house to give them their Christmas gifts and hang out for a while, which was also great. I love these people!

Caviar

We had family from Vegas at my parents house for New Years Eve and they brought with them some caviar. I think we were ready to just let it sit unopened on the counter all night long but Cassie wouldn't have that. She thought we should try it...

Cassie liked it...I think, but maybe she just didn't hate it

Here I am preparing myself...

I was pretty sure I wasn't going to like it but I had to try. I didn't like it. There is a pretty funny picture of my reaction but I look worse than horrible in it so I didn't post it. Sorry!

Here's Brandon preparing himself...

...tasting it....

...and reacting. He didn't much care for it either.

Goodnight Sweetheart

I found out last Sunday that one of the best friends I've ever had is gone. Jon Riebeek died Saturday, January 16, 2010. I think that it may be the hardest thing that I have had to deal with in my life to date. It was hard for me to leave him almost three years ago, but this is worse. I have spent the past week being a complete wreck but also remembering the good times. There were a lot of good times. Jon was an amazing person and I will always love him very, very deeply. It's been hard for me to be so removed from the general mourning process of someone that was my complete world for over eight years but I take comfort in the knowledge that he was happy with the life he was building. I wish I could reach out and tell his family and loved ones how sorry I am, and how badly my heart is aching but I don't feel like I can so this blog will just have to do.

Goodnight sweetheart, sleep tight my love, may God watch over you from above... -Tom Petty
